When traveling, personal safety information for women may help keep you from harm. When checking in to a hotel, confirm there is a deadbolt lock and a peep hole on the door to your room. When going into your room, flip on all the lights, check in the bathroom, behind the shower curtain, all the closets, and under beds. You want to confirm the room is empty.
Confirm all windows and outer doors are locked and that any connecting door to an adjoining room is secured from your side.
Review the hotel's emergency escape diagram on the back of your door to make yourself familiar with how you would escape if a fire or other emergency should occur. And look down the hallway to confirm where the exit signs are and that they are illuminated. Taking this small effort could help you get out alive in the event of an emergency.
