Review the hotel's emergency escape diagram on the back of your door to make yourself familiar with how you would escape if a fire or other emergency should occur. One of the most overlooked areas for personal safety information for women is in the workplace. Workplace threats can be internal, external, or both. If a threatening aggression does occur, using assertive behavior will relay the fact that you will not be a victim. Make a scene, yell, and remove yourself from the area.
When arriving at your workplace, be aware of your surroundings as you enter the building, hallways, and office areas.
When using an elevator, don't get in the elevator if you feel uncomfortable about the occupants getting on. Always position yourself closest to the controls. If someone does get on with you and you feel any concern, press the next floor button and get off.
If your jobs involves meeting new contacts outside the workplace, make sure the meeting place is in a very public location and that coworkers know who you are meeting and where. And prevent this new contact from escorting you back to your car or to your hotel room.
If your job requires you to work late at times, inform the company security and let family or friends know when you plan on leaving. While other workers are still there, make sure essential doors are locked and that no one is hiding in any storage rooms or restrooms. After you are by yourself and feel someone is lurking inside or outside, call security or the police.

Road conditions during the winter months can be dangerous, especially if you and your vehicle are not prepared for the worst road conditions of the year.

If you do experience a breakdown and a stranger stops to help, do not open your door. Instead speak to them through a very small opening of your window. Ask them to call the police or a wrecker service. If you already called for help on your cell phone, simply tell the stranger that the police will be arriving any moment.

· 1. Not locking your car doors while driving. Keep all of your doors locked to avoid a possible attacker from getting in the car with you while you’re sitting at a traffic light or the car is stopped. So, be sure to immediately lock all your doors once you get in your car.
· 2. When a man pulls up beside you and points at your car, pretending something is wrong, don’t pull over and stop your car. Instead, you should proceed to a well lit and busy gas station to
verify if anything really is wrong with your car.
· 3. If an attacker pulls a gun and demands you get in his car, don’t do it. His intentions are to get you to a deserted location to torture you. Instead run screaming. Become more trouble than he wants to deal with.
· 4. When you’re getting your car serviced, washed, or using valet service, only hand over the car keys.
Your home keys can readily be duplicated. Never give your home address information to a stanger.
· 5. Do not open your front door before you positively know who is there. If your door doesn’t have a
peep hole, get one. Don’t allow yourself to become a victim.
· 6. Most women have a tendency to be sympathetic. STOP IT! It may get you kidnapped or worse. Predators can act handicapped or in need of help to gain the opportunity to abduct

It’s that time of the year again when everyone heads to the malls and shops for the annual ritual of Holiday shopping. When it comes to safety, very few tips are available for personal safety information for women.
