Practical Tips and Personal Safety Information For Women

YOU have the power to take control of your own personal safety. By using common sense and personal safety information for women, you can greatly diminish your risk of being involved in a threatening situation.

Here are a few tips to keep in mind as you go about your day:

· Know your surroundings.

· Keep in mind your safety plan in the event something should become threatening.

· Be alert – be constantly observant of the surroundings.

· Maintain your focus on how you will react. Don’t let your guard down by any distractions.

· Park in well-lit areas and closest to the door.

· Walk with a friend or utilize security personnel to get to your vehicle.

· Keep your car/house keys in your hand ready to use.

· Keep one arm free at all times, ready to take evasive action if necessary.

· Always know where you are parked to avoid wandering around lost looking for your vehicle.
Don’t be the helpless victim that a possible attacker is watching for and will take advantage of.

· If a van or large vehicle is parked close to your driver’s side, don’t approach your vehicle alone, whether it’s day or night. Get a safe escort to accompany you and get in on the passenger side.
